There are several kinds of abdominoplasty offered in America today. A lot will depend on the kind of service wanted by the individual. There is ‘complete’ tummy tuck surgery for which the surgeon will make a reasonably large incision from just above the pubic area, to the navel. The skin is then separated from the stomach wall and the muscles of the abdomen exposed and tightened. There is also ‘partial’ tummy tuck surgery offered. This involves a more discreet incision, although in same area. This operation does not actually tighten the muscles. More, it stretches and removes excessive skin from the area. Once the skin is tight it is stitched back into place. The third kind of abdominoplasty is an ‘extended’ tummy tuck. This is not a new type of surgery, simply a mixture of the two other styles.
